In dialogue with the surrounding buildings, the new apartment building at Utsikten is a modern reinterpretation of the nearby 1970s student dormitories. 

Situated on a steep and exposed rocky outcrop, the building stands on a solid concrete base adapted to the topography. The timber structure extends outwards with large balconies and wide roof overhangs. The visible beams in the roof, the materiality and the proportions of the building help to read the structure and give the building a Japanese look.

There will be a unique and open view of Glomma, Gamlebyen, Fredrikstad Bridge and the sea from every apartment on the building's three floors.
